HISTORY & FACTS: Oreste Giovanni Corletto trademarked the "Corletto" name for use with jewelry in 1962 and in partnership with Tishman & Lipp formed Corletto Inc fine jewelry manufacturers and began offering fine jewelry designs in 1963.
After WW2 Europe had become the world leader of style and fashion, with Paris, Rome, and New York as the Fashion Capitals of the world. America was finally open to foreign trade and Corletto was among the first to import a full collection of Italian merchandise for resale to the retail trade. Corletto designs were inspired by nature and figurative art, crafted with 18 karat gold, pearls, gemstones and diamonds masterfully set in floral or highly decorative settings, along with finely carved Blackamoor figures and enamel work.
Known for their fine quality and craftsmanship Hallmarked “Corletto Italy” or “Corletto 18k Italy,” the designs featured luxury materials such as coral, enamel, and diamonds. Often imitated, in purchasing a Corletto piece, always look for the hallmark.
